Assigning Resources to a Project

The Resources tab lets you build your Project team by assigning people and defining their roles.

The four roles

VPMHR uses a two-tier accountability model:

Accountability and oversight:

  • Sponsor – the executive or senior leader accountable for the Project (maximum one per Project)
  • Project Manager – the person responsible for day-to-day delivery (maximum one per Project)

Responsibility:

  • Project Team Member – team members actively working on the Project (no limit)
  • Subject Matter Expert – specialists providing expertise to the Project (no limit)

How to assign Resources

Expand a Project card and open the Resources tab. You’ll see the four role sections on the left and a pool of available Resources on the right. Drag a Resource from the available pool and drop them into the appropriate role. Use the search field to filter the available Resources list.

To remove a Resource from the Project, drag them back to the available pool. To change someone’s role, drag them from one role section to another.

Changes save as soon as you drop the resource on the new role.

Why it matters

Resource assignments feed into the Dashboard’s health checks. A Project without a Sponsor or Project Manager will be flagged as incomplete, helping you maintain complete project records across your portfolio.
